George Springer is expected to miss about two weeks after spraining his left thumb on a stolen-base attempt Sunday.
According to MLB.com , Springer will be placed on the 10-day disabled list Monday, with Derek Fisher recalled to take his roster spot, but the Astros are relieved the injury isn’t more serious.
Springer hurt his thumb sliding into second base in the third inning Sunday against the Dodgers and left the game immediately. He had hit a home run in the first inning.

Springer, an All-Star the last two seasons, has a .250/.335/.436 slash line with 19 home runs in 109 games.
His loss is another blow to the first-place Astros, who placed pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. on the disabled list Sunday with right elbow discomfort. Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa also are on the DL, though the latter is on a rehab assignment and expected to return this week.
